Dayasarana Development Foundation (DDF) was inaugurated in the year 2004 with the objective of providing financial assistance to all employees of Daya Group and their families when they faced with sudden situations of falling ill and instances of natural disasters.

The Foundation on such instances would take immediate action to offer it’s employees and families when notified regarding these unforeseen events.The employees and their dependants would be granted financial grants up to a maximum of Rs, 100,000- (Sri Lanka Rupees one hundred thousand only) in the following cases :-

  1. Heart  surgeries
  2. Kidney surgeries
  3. Cancer treatments
  4. Permanent disability or  partial disability
  5. Defects to sight and hearing
  6. Confronting sudden disaster and accidents

Foundation also offers scholarships for Children who have lost their fathers in their service to the nation and to students who are under privileged and in war affected areas in Ampara and Moneragala Districts who have secured good results in Grade V scholarship and G.C.E. (O/L) examinations conducted by the Sri Lankan government and scholarships are presented for University students who are faced with difficulties to continue their education due to financial problems too.

The aim and objectives of the DDF do not limit to the above only. President of DDF    Hon. Daya Gamage, who is also the Chairman of Daya Group as well as a Provincial Councilor of Eastern Province is kind hearted and has a keen interest in the welfare work of the people in this region.  His in depth understanding of the common man’s problems, hopes and aspirations extends beyond the scope of the limits mentioned above. Being a member of the Eastern Provincial Council he has keen interest in the promotion of religious, social and cultural activities of the ethnic communities living in this war affected region and is held high esteem by the people.

To this end, Deshashakthi Daya Gamage as Chairman of the Daya Group has implemented a scheme to undertake renovation of ancient Buddhist temples in Digamadulla District and also rejuvenate, protect and promote Buddhist culture for the new generation by ordaining young children as Buddhist monks.

Dayasarana Development Foundation contributed to form the World first Cattle sanctuary on 3rd August 2008, in Kovul Ara, as per Ven. Dr. Omalpe Sobhitha Thero, Chief Advisor to the Bodhiraja Buddhist Foundation plans.

Development of the roads in the Sanctuary area of approx.200 acres and building of sheds for animals etc. are some of the work done by the Dayasarana Development Foundation.

The Foundation has secured its position as one of the most well-known and exemplary organization which serves lot of benefits to its members and to the society.
